The first industry-education integration community in the fields of intangible cultural heritage and craft art, initiated and led by China National Arts and Crafts Group Co. (CNACGC), has been officially established, setting a new benchmark for the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage.?
Issuing a New “Call to Action” for the Industry
In November this year, 260 upstream and downstream enterprises, universities, and industry organizations from over 30 provinces and cities across China gathered at the Central Academy of Fine Arts to witness the establishment of the nation’s first industry-education integration community in the fields of intangible cultural heritage and craft art—the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance and Innovation and Craft Art Industry-Education Integration Community. As one of the founding units, CNACGC united top forces from relevant domestic fields to form a cross-regional, collaborative, mutually beneficial, and innovative social organization, injecting strong momentum into the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage and the industry-education integration development in the craft art sector.
Uncovering China’s “Pattern” DNA
This year marks a significant milestone for CNACGC in exploring China’s “pattern” heritage. At the 2024 Licensing Expo in Shanghai, the “China National Arts & Crafts” brand held its first-ever licensing cooperation signing ceremony, with a special exhibition featuring intangible cultural heritage, inspired by blue-and-white porcelain patterns, also making a stunning debut. During the same period, the China Craft Pattern Data Center was officially established. As a professional, integrated, and practical platform for pattern data sharing, the center will curate and showcase classic traditional Chinese craft patterns, promoting the dual empowerment of digital technology and cultural creativity, allowing Chinese patterns to shine with new vitality in the modern era.
Opening a New Window into the Craft Art Story
Building on a deep understanding of Chinese aesthetics, CNACGC?actively takes on the role of a storyteller and promoter of excellent traditional Chinese culture. It presented the cultural innovation IP “Craft Beauty Sister” at the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League’s traditional culture events. The company also organized study programs such as the “Dunhuang Star Quest—2023 Cultural Heritage Digitalization Study Camp” and supported the “2024 Poly Youth Aspiration · Shanghai Study Tour—Spark Youth Dream” craft art study section, effectively transforming the advantages of its central enterprise platform and industry resources.
Intangible cultural heritage is not just “craftsmanship,” but the continuation of culture. In the future, Poly will continue to work hand in hand with all sectors of society to create a new chapter in the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage.
